Grove Academy is an exciting new free school which opened in September 2017 and is the first all-through school to open in Slough, providing seamless high quality education for 4 to 18 year olds.
This is a unique opportunity to work with us to shape the Grove experience. We opened with Reception children and 120 Year 7s. We were also asked by the local authority to provide year 1, 2 and 3 classes and these have expanded quickly in the first half term which is why this post has come up now.
Our project based curriculum will be developed via ‘big questions’ and will enable pupils, from Reception upwards, to place their learning within a real life context with concrete experiences. We will work closely with local businesses and organisations to ensure that our pupils leave Grove Academy with the skills and character that employers seek.

This year the role will be responsible for two small classes but as the school expands to a maximum of four forms of entry the role will develop too for the candidate who can demonstrate successful leadership.
We are looking for an experienced teacher who:
- Is an innovative and passionate practitioner who can create an exciting learning environment and make learning visible through enquiry.
- Is able to inspire, lead, develop and support effective teaching and learning practice for children in their own class whilst motivating and supporting the teacher in the other class.
- Can monitor and analyse the performance of children and plan effectively for progress
- Who can also make learning fun!

About Grove Academy
Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.
As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
