ABC Teachers are working with a rapidly improving school in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham, to recruit a Year 2 teacher to cover a 0.4 maternity contract from October 2018.
The position will be working on a job share basis with an enthusiastic year 2 class as part of this busy school, where pupils are encouraged to use their skills effectively. The staff here work hard to maintain a positive and supportive environment and work well as a team for the benefit of the children.
The successful candidate must:
- Hold valid QTS
- Be able to encourage positive behaviour for learning
- Have the drive and determination to make a difference to learning
- Have excellent understanding of the KS1 curriculum
- Be an approachable and friendly individual
- Have a good sense of humour
The position will be covering from October half term 2018 until the end of the academic year and the days worked can be flexible for the right candidate.

To be considered for this position you will be required to attend a face to face registration and hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce. You will need to pay for this upfront, but once you are fully registered, have uploaded this onto the Update Service and have worked 1 full day with us then we will reimburse you the cost. At the registration we will discuss in more detail the work that you are looking for, your experience to date, and also how we are going to work best for you.
We will need to gain academic references to cover the last 12 months, one of which must be a school based reference. Our compliance team have a rigorous safeguarding and clearance process and this is how we know we are working with the best possible team of staff to employ in our schools.
