Location: Hackney

£130 - £150 per day PAYE

September 2021 – July 2022 

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is holding QTS and recent teaching experience in KS2. 

The role 

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a full time, Year 6 Class Teacher to work in a large, three-form entry school in Hackney. The suitable candidate will be working with a Year 6 Class who have usually been characterised as a bubbly and lively group of pupils to teach!  The Year 6 Class Teacher will be required to plan and deliver enjoyable and stimulating lessons and foster a real passion for educating the lively bunch of students.  The Year 6 Class Teacher will be required for the full academic year and is likely to roll into September 2022. This would be a fabulous opportunity for any class teacher who is seeking to work alongside a friendly team, has experience in KS2, year 6 and wishes to commit to the learning of a lovely group of pupils who are eager to learn and succeed. There are aprox. 23 students within the class and two SEN pupils who have a full-time 1:1 SEN TA who will be able to support. Planning will also be shared across the year group and you will be provided with PPA time for this.

The school has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and we have received extremely positive feedback from staff who have worked there before. More specifically, positive feedback is usually related to the team of staff who work within the school as well as the pupils’ general attitude and approach to learning. Each classroom has large windows, lots of space and colourful walls, all contributing to a positive and uplifting environment. There are many opportunities to progress within the school with the regular CPD courses, whereby the leadership wish to better each member of staff which will ultimately transfer onto the pupils’ education. The school encourage the use of technology as well as outdoor space to allow for a more fruitful approach to educating. 

Requirements 

To be considered for the Year 6 Class Teacher, you must:

• Hold QTS 

• Have recent experience teaching KS2, ideally Year 6

• Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
