Values and vision
Holway Park Community Primary School describes itself as a "busy but friendly school, with lots going on”. It believes in four Ss that underpin school life, encouraging students and ensuring they are enthusiastic and engaged. "Stargaze" represents dreams, aspirations and goals; "spirit" encompasses children's attitude and motivation to be responsible pupils; "strive" means the determination to work to their full potential; and "sparkle" indicates success and the "feel-good factor".
Holway Park has a positive atmosphere and standards have increased faster than the national rate. The school focuses on providing a well-rounded education, but it offers plenty of extra-curricular activity, with drama events ranging from a Reception nativity play to Year 6 Shakespeare performances.
Ofsted report
“The school is well led and managed. The headteacher and deputy headteacher’s relentless and determined drive to ensure every pupil does as well as he or she can has gained the support of pupils, staff and parents and carers. Improvement has been strong and sustained. The school’s interesting visits, events and topics make learning fun and contribute well to pupils’ good spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.”
