Vision for Education are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 6 class in a school in Inner West Newcastle. This is a long-term position, set to begin immediately, up until December with the view to extend further. This is a general support role, of which the candidate will be supporting pupils within class and offering small interventions to pupils working below the expected level. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning. 

The role

The successful candidate will have experience of assisting teaching and learning in Key Stage 2, set high expectations and promote positive relationships within the classroom. The candidate must have outstanding knowledge of the National Curriculum and be able to confidently support pupils learning and progression. 


The school 

The Primary School is situated in the Inner-West of Newcastle, working in close partnership with the Local Authority, voluntary and emergency services. The school pride themselves on their ability to work together to promote progression across the school through outstanding partnership between parents/carers and teachers. Further to this, the school offer a little extra through working with external experts and specialists to ensure all pupils receive optimal support and opportunities.  

Requirements

To be considered for the Year 6 Teaching Assistant post, you will:

• Hold a minimum of Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning. 

• Have experience of supporting learning in Key Stage 2.

• Have excellent knowledge of the curriculum.

• Able to work independently and as part of a motivated team. 

• Implement excellent behaviour management within the classroom. 

• Have a genuine desire to help children achieve academically.
