Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Woodlands Primary School for an outstanding teacher who is looking to develop their leadership role in KS1 or KS2. in a school which has just had a very successful OFSTED.

We are seeking to appoint a Year Group Leader who has high expectations and who has a real passion for teaching and learning and believes that all children can and deserve to succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for a class teacher who is ready to move to the next step in their career to gain valuable leadership experience working alongside an inspiring and motivated team of year group leaders. You would be leading teaching and learning across a key phase and will liaise and work closely alongside our SLT and our team of other outstanding Year Group Leaders.

You will be allocated a 20% reduced class timetable to fulfill your leadership roles and responsibilities. You will be responsible for the monitoring of the T&L across your year group/phase and will be part of the school's extended SLT which meets fortnightly.

Many of our YGL's often move onto AHT positions as the YGL role is a perfect step to developing leadership skills and to understanding a whole school vision and approach to school development planning. We are committed to developing the leadership skills of our YGL's and all have completed their NPQML training (which the school also offers).

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • Committed to and passionate about developing approaches towards education
  • An excellent practitioner who has energy and drive for raising standards
  • Able to inspire children and deliver exciting learning opportunities
  • Committed to your own professional development and have leadership aspirations
  • Able to act as a positive role model to others.

In turn we can offer you:

  • A vibrant, passionate and committed community
  • An ethnically diverse school community
  • A strong commitment to continuing professional development and an open, honest and determined leadership team who all work closely together
  • A wonderful, rich and inspiring place to work and learn.

Visits to our school are highly recommended. Please contact the school to arrange.

Closing date: Thursday April 27th @ 4pm
