Are you an excellent teacher, looking for your first or a new leadership role?

Our children have told us that they would like “a really good teacher”, who “knows how to help us to learn well” and who is “fun, funny but serious when needs to be”.  If you are also hard working, dynamic and motivated, we would love to hear from you.

St Edward’s is a large multicultural Church of England Voluntary Aided school situated just a ten minute walk from the town centre of Romford with its excellent transport links.  We are proud of our 300 year history but are also a friendly, forward-thinking school.

Although we are a large school, governors, staff, pupils and parents all work closely together which creates a friendly, family atmosphere.  The children enjoy a wide variety of extra-curriculum activities and sports are a particular strength of the school.

We are a three form entry school and are looking for an outstanding teacher, with a good sense of humour, who can inspire and lead colleagues in their Year Group.  The successful candidate may be asked to lead any year group, although preferences will be taken into account wherever possible.

Year Group Team Leaders are responsible for the management of planning, assessment monitoring and target setting within their Year Group, for mentoring less experienced teachers and for the day to day supervision of support staff, including performance management of some Teaching Assistants.  A full job description is included in the application pack.

We have a strong established management structure and you will be supported by our Head Teacher, our Deputy Head Teacher and three Assistant Head Teachers.

We would like to appoint someone who:

• is supportive of our Christian values and ethos;

• is hardworking, skilled and able to motivate colleagues and children;

• has great people skills;

• has a sound knowledge of either the Key Stage 1 or 2 primary phase;

• enjoys teaching stimulation, challenging and enriching lessons;

• has high expectations of pupils.

You will like working with us if you enjoy:

• a caring family culture;

• working with supportive staff, parents and governors;

• helping children to realise their full potential.

We have attached an information pack for prospective candidates, which contains more detailed information about the post.  Further information about our school can also be found on our website, www.stedwardsva.net.

Application Procedure

Please complete the online application form and refer to the Job Profile and Person Specification when completing your supporting statement.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday, 27th March 2018

Thank you for your interest in our school – we hope to hear from you soon.
