Youth Development & Engagement Officer, London – Part-time 0.6 FTE, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

£32-35,000 per annum (FTE), pro-rata for part-time hours

The Goldsmiths’ Centre is a Charity established by the Goldsmiths’ Company, one the Great Twelve Livery Companies of the City of London.  The Centre is based in Clerkenwell, London, and is the leading charity for the professional training of jewellers, silversmiths and the allied industries. Now in our 5th year of operation, the support of those working or aspiring to work within the goldsmithing industry is at the core of what we do. As our work around education and training is continuing to develop we require a Youth Development & Engagement Officer to support our Professional Training team and assist in the engagement of young people to raise their awareness of careers and opportunities in both the Jewellery industry and The Goldsmiths’ Centre.

You will be someone with excellent inter-personal skills, with experience of working with young people from a variety of backgrounds. You will be used to working on your own initiative as well as in a team role. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as this role will require you to liaise with colleagues, craftspeople, partners and event participants.

Preferably educated to degree level and with a background in the industry, design or education, you will be passionate about supporting young people in making informed decisions for their future progression. The successful applicant will be required to have a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Certificate.

In exchange we are offering a salary of £32-35,000 (FTE) pa, pro-rated for part-time hours, plus an employee benefits package. If you would like to know more about this role, download the job description today from www.goldsmiths-centre.org. Then, if you believe that you have what it takes to make a significant contribution to the Goldsmiths’ Centre, email us at careers@goldsmiths-centre.org with your CV and a covering letter telling us why.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 16 July 2017. Interviews will be held at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in London on Thursday, 27 July 2017.
