Job overview

We're looking for someone whose passion for the RNLI will inspire and motivate a whole new generation of potential lifesavers and supporters. Could this be you?

Working with volunteers, schools, local authorities and other safety partners, you’ll deliver the RNLI’s Youth Education strategy by helping young people to stay safe in and around the water.

You'll encourage young people to get involved with the RNLI, create partnerships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the RNLI and develop fresh approaches to managing and training volunteers.

It's about having a real enthusiasm for inspiring young people - knowing how to connect with them in dynamic and exciting ways. You’ll understand the education market and the subtleties of communicating with young people using creative messages, media, products and channels.

Collaboration is an important part of this role, and so your negotiation and persuasion skills will secure the help of colleagues, partner agencies and other supporters. A confident and compelling communicator, you’ll be able to enthuse and motivate young audiences and volunteers alike.

Experience of working with volunteers, partners and young people is essential; an understanding of educational structures would be an advantage.

Travel will be a significant part of the role, so this post requires a valid driving licence.

For more information and to apply online, please visit the RNLI Recruitment page and search for reference ‘8352’ for the South East or ‘8354’ for Scotland and Tyne & Wear.

Closing date: 24 June 2018.

Interview date: w/c 9 July 2018.

About RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution

We are the RNLI: the charity that saves lives at sea. Every day of every year, people of all backgrounds get into danger in the water. It’s a problem that we’re here to tackle.

Educating kids about water safety is fundamental to saving lives at sea and a core part of our prevention work. The more young people we can reach with our water safety messages, the more lives we can save now and in the future. As a teacher or youth leader, you really can make a lifesaving difference.
