This is a visual and themed book list and recommendations A3 poster.
It is appropriate for all secondary school aged children, and showcases a range of standard chapter books and graphic novels for teens.
They are all LGBTQA+ inclusive and feature characters with this representation, e.g. main characters that are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, non-binary and a-sexual. There are some books that also feature LGBTQA+ family members, friends and teachers. All of these books are well written, modern, positive and diverse.
This poster can be put up in classrooms, communal areas and libraries, and is intended not just for Pride Month, but at any time of the year around your school. Make sure to have some of the books available in your school library so that teens can read and enjoy these fantastic stories.

This is a set of 12 individual bookmarks with the first lines of some modern children’s books. All books were published either late 2023 or early 2024 and are appropriate for KS2 and KS3 students. They are intended to encourage reading for pleasure as well as widen students’ reading choices. Many will want to collect the complete set, so just print out as many as you need.

As part of the English curriculum at GCSE is to study a Shakespeare play, this fab poster includes five of the plays that feature on the most popular exam boards for GSCE English, AQA and Edexcel.
For each play, I’ve highlighted several modern teen and adult books that are based on that specific play.
This poster is intended to grab students’ attention and potentially direct them to more modern and accessible texts with central themes from Shakespeare’s plays, in order to further aid learning and understanding.
Reading the books that are featured may also help to encourage reading for pleasure and is perfect for more able readers who want to read around their subjects.

The featured books contain similar plots, characters or themes to the above set texts, or are even outrightly based on the books.
The books are a diverse and inclusive collection that are appropriate for Year 10 and 11 readers.
The poster is intended to concrete students’ knowledge and understanding of the set texts and are ideal for More Able students wanting to read around their subject. There are, however, at least one more accessible text for SEN students or lower ability readers for each set text.
This colourful, subject-linked poster will brighten up your English classroom and may help to spark discussions about the set texts.
