Job overview

We are seeking an outstanding Consultant Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum) to join our vibrant and successful school (for pupils aged 11-19). This is a part-time (2-3 days per week) one year fixed-term position to enhance an existing and successful team of senior leaders. The next phase of development will focus on improving the KS3 curriculum. This post will suit an ex-Headteacher / Deputy Headteacher.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding teacher and manager, with the relevant skills to help drive school improvement and curriculum standards. You will also need to be creative in your approach to teaching and learning, with the ability to inspire pupils and raise achievement and expectations. Please do not apply if you are theoretical and lack the practical experience of improving the core skills of pupils who live and are educated in challenging circumstances.

About Platanos College

Platanos College is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in South London. It is an academy state school supported by the Platanos Trust, a multi-academy trust set up with the intention of raising standards and preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. The school will provide 1,000 places for secondary pupils aged 11-19, when fully subscribed.

An academy converter, Platanos College reopened in February 2011. It was the first school in the Platanos Trust.
