Penistone Grammar School has vacancies for Learning Support Assistants with the enthusiasm and drive to join our SEND Mainstream provision. You will be a Learning Support Assistant who has the determination and enthusiasm to make a difference in the life of each and every student you work with. You will share our vision and will have the ability to inspire our young people to achieve more than they believe is possible.

All roles involve supporting students for whom special educational needs and disabilities are a barrier to learning in order to secure good and outstanding outcomes across the curriculum in line with agreed Individual Education, Health and Care plans. Learning Support Assistants work with students with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities in the different curriculum areas across school either in classroom or with small groups of students. SEND needs may include emotional and behavioural, physical, learning, medical and/or communication difficulties.

We also have a specific vacancy to work on a 1 to 1 basis with a student to primarily provide personal care.

For all roles it will be advantageous for candidates to have some experience of working with young people or adults with SEND needs. This can be in a school, residential or social care setting.
