We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher who wishes to develop and gain experience as a middle leader, to join our Academy as Head of Social Science. The post holder will be responsible for leading the delivery of Psychology, Sociology and Health and Social Care whilst overseeing the quality of the curriculum being delivered within these subjects. Our Sixth Form provision is growing, with a newly built Sixth Form teaching block and Cafeteria, alongside modern resources. Psychology and Sociology are extremely popular Sixth Form choices and Health and Social Care is a growing subject taught at both KS4 and KS5. The ability to teach Psychology at KS4 and KS5 would be advantageous.
As part of our Middle Leadership Team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our other leaders and managers, both within the Academy and across SWAN schools.
Guilsborough Academy believes in a personalised and supportive approach towards CPD that is encouraged amongst all our staff. Our extensive in house CPD programmes at all levels (NQTs, ECT’s, Experienced Teachers and Support Staff) are further supported by working collaboratively with the SWAN Teaching School Alliance and other external awarding bodies.
