We are looking for a candidate with a passion for History and teaching, with a strong background and subject knowledge and the ability to teach another subject where possible. The position would suit a serving Head of Department or an experienced teacher with a track record of transferable experience. The candidate must have a strong academic background and be willing to contribute to the wider life of the School.

The School’s salary scale is substantially above the national scale. 

St Paul’s is a selective Independent Day School for boys aged 13-18, occupying a superb 45-acre site on the south bank of the Thames, west of Hammersmith Bridge. St Paul’s School excels academically at both A-level and GCSE, with some of the highest national scores. These endeavours, as well as the work beyond the curriculum, excite students and teachers alike.

St Paul’s School was founded in 1509 and currently occupies a large site in Barnes, south-west London. A selective independent school, it provides an education for boys aged 7-18 and has boarding facilities for a small number of its students.

Prospective entrants are usually expected to pass online and/or written examinations across a range of subjects, as well as undergoing an interview with a senior member of staff. In order to improve accessibility for students from poorer backgrounds, a wide range of bursaries and scholarships are available for boys who reach the required academic standard.
