A truly exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an exceptional leader and practitioner to lead our incredibly successful Religious Studies department of 10 teachers through the next phase of its development. Religious studies is a very popular and successful subject in our school and is taught as a core subject at key stages 3 and 4. At GCSE, the AQA specification is taught and student outcomes are outstanding. In 2023, 64% of the entire cohort of 369 students achieved a grade 7-9 in the full course GCSE, with 21% achieving a grade 9. At A level, Religious studies is an equally popular choice and we currently have 125 students studying the OCR GCE A/AS specification. In 2023, the average grade achieved by the 51 students who took the GCE A level examination was a grade A.

The successful applicant will be line managed by the current post holder who will be taking on a wider role in the school. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding and experienced teacher with the ambition and vision to lead a large team of motivated and committed teachers who believe that there are no limits to what our students can achieve. We are looking to appoint a colleague with a strong and proven track record of delivering outstanding outcomes at GCSE who is ready to take the next step in their career. As a middle leader, you will be a key member of our Teaching and Learning Group and play a key role in driving up standards across the school.
