We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Computing department in an outstanding school . This is a full-time, permanent position.

You will be joining a collaborative, supportive and well-resourced team that works closely together to share ideas, develop high-quality teaching materials and continually refine practice.

At Key Stage 3, students follow a broad and engaging curriculum that builds upon the foundations in computational thinking, programming, digital literacy and more recently introducing AI. It remains a popular choice at KS4 for GCSE. Numbers are growing in A Level Computer Science steadily year on year. Students who choose the subject at Key Stage 5 are highly committed, motivated and passionate about the discipline and often go on to pursue further education courses related to Computer Science..
About the Role:
Teach Computing and IT across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A Level Computer Science or a vocational Key stage 5 course as part of the role
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our curriculum remains relevant and inspiring.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in information technology and computing education.
Ideal Candidate:Holds QTS or equivalent.
Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Computing .
Demonstrates a passion for teaching Computing and a commitment to student success.
Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Computing and relevant examination specifications.
Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
Able to contribute to the wider aims of computing education including educating young people about the risks associated with technology and the use of AI.
Willing to support the development of new practical courses at key stage 4 and 5 across the information technology sector.
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team to develop subject‑specific resources and extension activities that inspire and challenge pupils at all stages.
Lead or support computing‑focused enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, robotics groups and cyber challenges.
Ensure that teaching reflects current developments in the discipline, including programming, computational thinking, systems architecture, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital ethics.
