JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for an skilled IT professional to oversee the efficient and effective operation and planning of IT infrastructure across the school site, while providing hands-on IT support to staff across the school. You will be responsible for all IT hardware and software, servers, storage management, security, recovery/business continuity. You will also provide project management skills to allow for strategic planning in the best use of IT to meet current and future initiatives and developments.
Working Pattern - Monday to Friday full time, 52 weeks
Salary Banding - Band 4 Management, Range = £36,550 - £49,547
Main Duties Include (Not Exhaustive)
- Managing the provision of high quality, effective IT support services across the Academy
- managing the data network, IT infrastructure and telecommunications systems, GDPR and cyber security requirements and data eco-system,
- managing the IT Team, including IT Technicians
- managing the Academy's IT budget and ensuring the best use of resources and value for money in respect of IT equipment and service contracts.

The right candidate will have:
- The ability to develop and communicate a clear IT strategy for the Academy in conjunction with senior leaders, and the wider Trust
- A formal IT qualification to degree level or significant relevant experience
- Experience of working in an educational environment within a similar role is desired
- Experience of leading IT projects, initiatives and strategies to successful conclusions
- Experience of interpreting legislation, policy and guidance to contribute to the formulation of policies and procedures that ensure compliance
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- A can-do attitude.

Huish Episcopi Academy is a large, non-selective, mixed secondary school for pupils aged 11-18 based in the heat of the Somerset Levels with a large catchment area. We are proud to be part of United Learning. At Huish, we offer the full national curriculum to all students with opportunities for our pupils to engage in a broad range of additional activities in sports, music, and the creative arts.
