Stretch and Challenge Tutor

This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate support for our most highly qualified students studying across a range of A Level subjects.  This post is ideally suited to an inspirational and hardworking graduate and self-starter looking to develop their skills and knowledge and who believes in the transformative power of education. A degree in an Arts/ Humanities or Social Science subject is essential, with the ability to engage with students across a range of these disciplines. 

You will have particular responsibility for coordinating support as well as working with small groups of targeted learners to help them achieve high grades (A/A*s). You will carry out teaching, learning and support activities with small groups of learners and participate in the planning and development of intervention for high starting A Level students. You will also be involved in the wider college development of a programme of activity for high starters (the Newcastle Sixth Form College ‘Honours Programme’) which provides academic skills sessions and information, advice and guidance for entry to highly selective university courses. This is a strategically significant role in a high achieving sixth form college and will report to the Deputy Principal.
