About the role

We wish to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Business and History on a Part Time basis. The successful candidate will be expected to teach GCSE Business Studies which is an optional subject at Long Close School. There may also be some History lessons on the post holder’s timetable.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a supportive yet challenging work environment. You will be part of a dynamic and experienced team of professional staff. This post will suit an ECT or someone who is fairly early on in their career.

 

What you will be doing

  • Successfully teaching Business & History up to GSCE
  • Creating well-planned lessons and deliver through effective and appropriate teaching methods, activities and management of class time
  • Teaching engaging and effective lessons that motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities across the entire age range
  • Monitoring the progress of pupils and identify underachievement ensuring programmes of support are in place to maximise the potential of all pupils 
  • Supporting the Head of Department / Senior Leadership Team in meeting whole school priorities and in realising the school’s vision.

Long Close School is a co-educational, independent school for children aged 2-16, situated in Slough, Berkshire.

The school was founded in 1940 and after a series of developments over the decades was bought by Cognita, the largest independent schools business in the UK, in 2004. The senior school opened in September 2006.
