Teacher of Business Studies with IT

El Limonar International School (ELIS) has been providing a high quality bilingual education for Spanish and International students from Early Years to KS5 in southern Spain for close to thirty years. First in the city of Murcia and later near the coast at Villamartin (Torrevieja in Alicante) ELIS has undergone significant growth and development over the years to become the highly respected, British curriculum international school that it is today. Currently the Villamartin site has around 500 students. In order to build upon our achievements to date, the Principal is inviting applications for the post of  Business Studies and IT teacher for Secondary and Sixth Form to replace the current member of staff who has retired from the profession. The post represents a genuine career advancement opportunity for a suitably UK qualified teacher as it will, following an induction period, include specific curriculum development responsibilities including involvement in the ‘ELIS Cognita Leap’ which is a group-wide initiative to increase investment into technological hardware in schools and weave the use of technology into all aspects of the curriculum in order to develop the skills required by young people for their future workplace experiences.

This post requires a PGCE-qualified teacher experienced in the teaching of  IGCSE and A-Level Business Studies as well as experience with either the ICT or Computing curriculums. The post-holder will teach across KS3 to KS5 and will be line-managed by the Head of Secondary and Head of Sixth Form whilst also working with our ICT/Computing staff in our Primary school.

As well as meeting the requirements of the general candidate specification, the successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work independently and be very well organized. Key to success here is an ability to show initiative, manage change and champion the development of rigor and student motivation across the Business Studies curriculum. Some experience as an Assistant Examiner for Business Studies would be an advantage but is not essential.
