Kingdown School is looking to appoint a highly skilled Head of Spanish to join our committed and passionate team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced teacher to lead Spanish in our successful Modern Foreign Languages Department, supporting the team in raising attainment and challenging students to achieve their best in the subject.
Contract: Permanent. Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR2B (£30,000 – £46,525 + £5,354). Other: QTS (essential).

Managing team of Spanish subject specialists, you will have experience in a similar leadership role (ideally within a MFL Department) and will be able to teach across our full age and ability range, up to and including Key Stage 5.
We and are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced teacher committed to delivering excellence;
- Has proven leadership skills/experience (ideally in a MFL Department);
- Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment;
- Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress;
- Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best;
- Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities;
- Is aware of current initiatives in Spanish;
- Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to the work in our MFL Department;
- Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour;
- Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff;
- Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure;
- Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.
