Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Inclusion to lead and strategically develop inclusive practices across schools. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with extensive experience in inclusion and special educational needs, ideally having previously held a SENCo or senior inclusion leadership role.
The Head of Inclusion will have overall responsibility for the identification, provision, monitoring, and evaluation of support for students with additional learning needs, ensuring compliance with school policies and international best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for inclusion and SEN provision across schools.
Develop and maintain effective communication between parents, pupils, and the school, ensuring parents are fully informed of the support provided for their child.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external agencies and specialists.
Ensure relevant background information for individual pupils is collected, recorded, and regularly reviewed.
Oversee initial assessments and ensure the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor and evaluate intervention strategies to ensure positive student outcomes.
Line-manage and support SEN staff and Special Support Assistants, including arranging and leading regular meetings.
Plan and oversee timetables to ensure appropriate deployment of inclusion and support staff based on student needs.
Ensure teaching staff are informed of policies, procedures, and individual pupil needs.
Liaise closely with Heads of Section and senior leaders regarding the progress of pupils with SEN.
Ensure pupils with SEN have full access to the curriculum and advise staff on differentiation, adaptive teaching, and inclusive practices.
Monitor the quality of differentiation and the effective implementation of IEPs across classrooms.
Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement among staff and students.
Lead and deliver CPD related to inclusion, SEN strategies, and team teaching.
Contribute to whole-school leadership, policy development, and school improvement planning.

Applicants
Essential:
PGCE or B.Ed. with a strong inclusion background
Proven experience working with students with SEN across primary (and ideally secondary) phases
Desirable:
Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a SENCo or inclusion leader
Experience working in a British-curriculum school
