Aboriginal and Islander Education Worker

The Aboriginal and Islander Education worker holds an identified position, being responsible for:

  • working with Aboriginal & Islander students in the classroom providing educational and pastoral support.
  • liaising with parents and guardians to facilitate a strong connection with the College and its ethos.
  • developing and maintaining relationships with organisations who provide assistance to Aboriginal & Islander students and their families.
  • to assist the College in the presentation of Aboriginal & Islander issues in their education programs.


The successful applicant will:

  • be able to demonstrate skills in cross-cultural communication.
  • be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to Aboriginal & Islander people when providing a liaison service.
  • be able to demonstrate prior experience in providing a liaison service, which involved close contact with Aboriginal & Islander people.
  • be willing to make positive contributions to the College and to support actively the Catholic ethos of the school
  • be ICT literate
  • have obtained or applied for an NT Working With Children Card.
  • hold a current Drivers' Licence.

This is a full time permanent position available for the right applicant.

Salary as per the current EBA and consistent with experience and qualification. Salary range from $62,010 to $80,435 per year (pro-rata) plus applicable allowances.
