Job overview

Located just outside Oxford, Our Lady's Abingdon is an independent, coeducational day school where pastoral care and an innovative, inclusive culture underpin all that we do. We offer colleagues a friendly, supportive ethos in which to work and develop existing skills.

An efficient administration system is vital to the smooth operation of the School and this newly created post presents an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrator to be involved across the school community. Reporting directly to the Senior Deputy Head, the post holder will carry out key administrative support tasks primarily using the databases and systems used by the School.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to demonstrate the highest level of attention to detail. Whilst the ability to work independently, manage changing priorities and stay calm under pressure are prerequisites, experience of school administration is desirable but not essential. All required training will be provided.

Ideally, this is a full-time role, working 7.30am – 4.00pm (reduced to 9.00am-4.00pm outside term-times by prior agreement with no loss of pay), all year round, however the School is open to discussion for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate:

Educated to A-Level or above

Professional, enthusiastic, with a 'can-do' attitude

Experience of working with and manipulating data

Experience of working with Excel and data management systems

Excellent communication skills, able to convey detailed information clearly

Meticulous eye for detail

Friendly and approachable

Ability to work independently and show initiative

Understanding and supportive of the School's ethos

What we offer:

Free school lunches during term time

Free on-site parking

Reduced working hours outside term-times, by agreement

Friendly, supportive working culture

Generous pension scheme

Use of school facilities

A peaceful yet central location close to public transport and shopping facilities
