OLA is an independent, coeducational day school located just outside Oxford which provides an inclusive, supportive atmosphere in which exceptional pastoral care and an innovative, inclusive culture underpin all that we do. 

An efficient administration system is vital to the smooth operation of the School and this newly created post presents an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrator to be involved across the school community. The post holder will carry out key administrative support tasks, undertake training for all databases and systems used by the School and conduct ad hoc tasks as required by the Leadership Team. The post-holder reports directly to the Deputy Head.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to demonstrate the highest level of attention to detail. Experience of school administration is desirable but not essential.

This is a full-time role, working 8.30am – 5.00pm (reduced to 9.00am-4.00pm outside term-times), Monday to Friday all year round. Annual holiday allowance is 5.6 weeks, which must be taken during school holidays.  


The ideal candidate:

Educated to A-Level or above

Professional, enthusiastic, with a 'can-do' attitude

Experience of working with and manipulating data

Experience of working with Excel and data management systems

Excellent communication skills, able to convey detailed information clearly

Meticulous eye for detail 

Friendly and approachable

Ability to work independently and show initiative

Understanding and supportive of the School's ethos

Abingdon-on-Thames is an historic, modern market town situated eight miles south of Oxford, with its world renowned reputation as a centre of academic excellence. The town has undergone recent development to upgrade the central shopping area providing a selection of restaurants, cafes and bars situated a just few minutes walk away from the river and gardens of Abbey Meadows. The town supports a mixed international community and has excellent bus links to Oxford, which is just a 15 minute ride away and provides a wealth of social and cultural opportunities.
