Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy in Witham, Essex are graded ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ by Ofsted respectively. Both have a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff alike.  This position will be based at Maltings Academy but is also to work at New Rickstones Academy.

As an Administration Apprentice you will be supporting and working with our Administration Team to provide an efficient and professional administrative service, in line with academy policies and processes. 

You will complete an NVQ Business Administration Level 2 or Level 3 and the work experience gained on the job with support this. Your Assessor will assess you in the workplace on a monthly basis. In between these meetings you will have dedicated time away from your job to work on the apprenticeship and collate evidence for your Apprenticeship portfolio with ongoing support from your Line Manager and Assessor.

You’ll be in a real job, with real variety, from day one. You’ll initially work in Reception, Administration and Reprographics. As you become more confident and experienced, you'll have more opportunities to work on your own initiative and develop your skills further including the option to work in other departments such as HR, Finance, Data and Lettings. You will also be trained as a first aider. You will be training on the job as well as having dedicated time away from your normal work to focus on collecting evidence for your apprenticeship portfolio.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide outstanding customer service. You will have excellent IT skills and good typing skills. You will be flexible and adaptable with the ability to use your own initiative.

This will be a fixed term contract for 15-24 months (depending on the Level of apprenticeship). 

To be eligible for the Apprenticeship, applicants must have resided in the UK or EEA for 3 years prior to the start of the Apprenticeship and must not hold a level 4 (or equivalent) qualification or above.  Please note: applicants must not be a graduate or have already completed a Level 2/3 Business Administration Apprenticeship (depending on the level you are applying for).

Please note: the AET has their own in house apprenticeship scheme and do not work with any other training providers to deliver Apprenticeships.
