Assistant Director of Mathematics

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and innovative Assistant Director of Mathematics to join our successful and supportive Mathematics department. The Assistant Director of Mathematics will support the Director of Mathematics to lead the dynamic team of staff to achieve the very best for all of our students within the department.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience. As Assistant Director of Mathematics, you will contribute to the overall leadership and management of Guilsborough School Multi Academy Trust and be active in promoting its aims and supporting an ethos that promotes achievement and high standards.
With the support of the Director of Mathematics, you will provide outstanding educational leadership for all colleagues that teach within the department. You will be fundamental in leading the development, planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of student progress in at least one Key Stage and engage effectively with all partners in providing a high quality learning environment. You will have a clear vision of quality first teaching that challenges and supports students of all ability levels with a specific responsibility for leading intervention for key groups of students (DS, SEND and prior lower attainers) within the department across KS3 and KS4.
The Mathematics department is very successful, with our GCSE results for 2017-2018 being significantly above national average with 81.2% of students achieving a grade 4+. We have also achieved consistently excellent results in both A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics which are both popular choices at A level. This position comes with the desirable opportunity to teach both A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics should the ideal candidate wish to.
