The Governors wish to seek and appoint an ambitious leader with the vision and expertise to work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to move RBA to ‘outstanding’ within the next five years. We are seeking a leader with energy, enthusiasm and character to enthuse staff and students through the next stages of the academy’s development. 

We have a genuine passion and excitement about how students learn and how teachers teach, led by evidence-based research. This is now an exciting opportunity for somebody to lead and shape the next stage of what happens in our classrooms, the most important area of school life.

Robert Barclay Academy is a 11-18 mixed comprehensive with an expanding roll. Staff are committed to providing a stimulating curriculum for all students as well as an engaging programme of extracurricular activities. RBA offers excellent support and a professional development programme for all staff.

Robert Barclay Academy is part of the highly successful Scholar’s Education Trust. We are a comprehensive 11-18 secondary school in which students make positive progress and our A Level results place us in the top 25% of schools nationally for the progress they make. Resources are good, and we place an emphasis on ensuring teachers have everything they need to teach their lessons effectively.

We value our staff and provide a personalised CPD offer, including the opportunity to work with colleagues from the other Trust secondary and primary schools.

Robert Barclay Academy is situated on a green and leafy site near Hoddesdon town centre, with good links both by road and rail (the trainline from Broxbourne station is a ten minute walk away and runs from the north into central London). We have approximately 700 students on roll, with over 100 in the Sixth Form.
