About Corby Technical School and the Associate Assistant Principal role

An exciting opportunity has opened for an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team at Corby Technical School and contribute to the continued success of this outstanding and high achieving school in Northamptonshire.  We offer an exceptional working and learning environment where students are placed at the heart of the learning experience. Corby Technical School is a very fast paced environment with all the exciting challenges and opportunities you would expect to find in a fully comprehensive school, and with this brand-new role comes the potential to be a part of our aspirational and driven team.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher and confident leader with a proven track record of sustained impact in science, who is looking for their next step. This role offers the prospect of leading our science department team whilst having a wider scope for impact across the school with additional senior leadership responsibilities. As part of a small Trust of schools you will be involved in the subject networks working with other like-minded colleagues in our other schools.

Our science department delivers a broad curriculum in all key stages and has a good track record of results at both KS4 and KS5, the Science department is highly collaborative, an innovative team of practitioners and is highly aspirational for all our students.  Our KS5 courses in science are a popular option, in our Sixth form following our technical focus.

We have a purpose-built science block with fully equipped lab and a full time science technician who supports the department.  The department also has a well-attended co-curricular provision as our students are keen to extend their learning past the classroom.

At Corby Technical School, we believe in open and transparent leadership. We are a team who are very receptive to making changes where an opportunity for improvement is identified. We encourage our leaders to lead by example, be professional ambassadors for the school, and contribute positively, upholding the school values. Leaders at Corby Technical School are always flexible in their work, responding to the needs of the school, and are motivated to ensure that an exceptional education is provided for our young people. We are seeking to appoint a leader with high aspirations for staff and students alike, who models professionalism in every aspect of their work. They will be a determined and resilient individual with high levels of integrity, a commitment to effective teamwork and a strong vision for the school.

Corby Technical school is an inclusive organisation that seeks to ensure equality of opportunity for all. If you think this looks like the right role for you, we would love to hear from you!
