As Headteacher, from day one I’ve delivered a very clear message to our staff, students and parents. It is that every one of us must take ownership of ambition and raise our expectations of the success we can achieve, both individually and as a community. That idea now defines who we are.
As a member of the GLF Schools family our aim is simple, to become outstanding. Broadly, while a lot of work remains to be done to achieve this, we are well on the way. When I became the Headteacher, this school was widely regarded to still be at the inadequate standard of its predecessor school.
Thanks to the support of our parents, the very strong desire of the students to be successful and the dedicated and extensive efforts of all of the staff, Ofsted determined that:
- The leadership of the new Headteacher has transformed the school.
- Teaching is improving rapidly, leadership and management are good at all levels in the school. Staff and student morale is high.
- Capacity to improve further is strong.
- There is a strong embedded culture of ambition and aspiration.
- Leaders at all levels in the school are united in their determination to do their best for the students.
- There is a strong sense of moral purpose to develop the highest quality teaching.
- The behaviour of students is good. There is a calm purposeful atmosphere in the school.
- Students feel listened to and valued. They are proud of their school.
We are now in a strong position to be able to introduce a number of new roles aimed at supporting and developing the progress and wellbeing of our students. As such, the post of Attendance, Admissions and Student Services Officer is of utmost importance in supporting our student body and developing our ethos.
Staff/Student interactions are very important and therefore the post holder must be fully committed to our family ethos and inclusive vision as they will provide frontline support at the student services reception.
As part of our team the post holder will support the smooth operation of the school through the handling enquiries, dealing with admissions and ensuring school attendance is a very strong feature of the school. The post holder will provide an outstanding service for parents, students and staff. Additionally they will ensure records are kept in line with external and internal audit requirements and information is shared with appropriate members of staff. Excellent communication and empathy are therefore vital skills.
