Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) is a thriving and successful, not-for-profit international, day and boarding school set in the beautiful Malaysian countryside, an hour’s drive south of Kuala Lumpur. The School was established in 1991 and caters for more than 1,000 students aged 3 to 19. Our examination results are consistently impressive, with 95% of our A Level students achieving A* to B in 2020.

We are seeking an inspirational and highly-motivated Chemistry teacher to join our thriving Chemistry Department in September 2021. The School follows the CAIE syllabus. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to teach Science to students in Years 7-9, as well as IGCSE and A Level Chemistry. He/she will be expected to make good use of modern technology and other innovative resources in his/her teaching and to convey a real enthusiasm for the subject.

The Primary School, which opened in 2013, follows the English National Curriculum in English and mathematics, alongside the International Primary Curriculum; while the Secondary School prepares students for IGCSEs and A Levels. Most students go on to study at UK universities.

Teaching Information

Teachers at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar are expected to hold at least 2 years’ relevant experience in their teaching subject and the British National Curriculum, with strong IT skills. Teachers are also expected to engage fully in the life of the school.
