About Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar

Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar is a co-educational international school located in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. First established in 1991, the school provides places for around 950 pupils aged 4-19, both day and boarding. The school was founded with the intention of offering a British-style curriculum to children from across the region. To this end, the school arranges its pupils in the same manner as a typical British school, by year group and Key Stage. Students begin their time at the school by following the Early Years Foundation Stage, followed by a British-inspired custom curriculum through Key Stage 1 and 2. This curriculum includes numerous local areas of study, such as Malay language, Islamic studies and Malaysian history classes. In the school’s secondary division, students study for the iGCSE examination at age 16, before moving on to the sixth form in which they study for British A-level examinations, offered in a wide range of subjects and disciplines. The School's Sixth Form also offers American SAT examinations, as well as advanced English-language qualifications. The school itself is located on an 80-acre site and is able to boast of a wide range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, including basketball courts, science labs and swimming pools.
