Job overview

Highly competitive six figure salary for a suitably experienced and qualified candidate

18-month fixed term contract

Enriching lives; transforming futures.

Can you successfully lead a transformational change programme?

The Trustees of Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic leader as Chief Executive Officer for their highly successful Trust on a fixed term contract from January for a period of 18 months.

Fairfax Multi-Academy Trust (FMAT) is an Educational Charity. FMAT was established in 2014 by a group of dedicated individuals who were committed to enriching the lives and transforming the futures for children. Our Trust is a family of four schools who educate over 4,300 students, employ over 700 staff, situated across the West-Midlands. Being part of a family of schools is of great benefit to our pupils, community and staff. Our vision is that every child, regardless of their background, within the Trust will attend an Academy that offers an outstanding quality of education.

Why should a child's life chances be decided by their postcode or background? We believe that every child deserves the same high standard of education to change their lives. Fundamental to the CEO’s post is the ability to harness the collective strengths of the individual schools and bring them together to work as a cohesive unit.

Applicants for the post will be able to evidence experience of operating at a senior executive level within an education environment or will be from those sectors working with the education/public sector where you have a strategic knowledge of the challenges of leading complex multi-stakeholder organisations and have experience of leading transformational change management.

You will have had experience of reporting to Trustees (board of directors), be able to demonstrate sound financial management skills combined with the ability to lead and implement a working programme of transformational change programme and then build and develop collaborative and strategic internal and external partnerships, maximising the opportunities available to the Trust.

As a highly skilled communicator, used to working at pace, with excellent interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to engage credibly and successfully build, lead and further develop key relationships both within the Trust and externally, locally and nationally.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious forward thinker, who will bring the drive, inspiration and commitment to lead the transformational vision for the Trust and its stakeholders.

This is a unique and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Trust at a very exciting time. As the Trust develops we require a dynamic and innovative leader who shares our ambition and commitment to excellence.

For an informal and confidential discussion about this unique opportunity and to find out how to apply please call our recruitment partner Chris Gartner from Hays Leadership on 07595 646 645 or email to chris.gartner@hays.com

Closing deadline: Friday 9th of December at 9:00
Interviews: 11th of December
