Job overview

Putting children at the heart of everything we do

Established in 2011, Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) is an exciting and successful family of 22 primary and secondary academies and further education providers, arranged in four clusters across the Midlands, East Anglia and Essex. The Trust shapes the futures of over 12,000 children. Its academies are performing well, from a starting point well below national expectations. A very high percentage are now Ofsted Good and standards have continually improved over the past few years.

The Trust is currently undertaking significant restructuring, in which it is maintaining a tight grip on finances to ensure the trust remains sustainable, whilst redefining its vision, structure and practices to suit the changing educational landscape. It is now positioned for steady growth and is looking for a visionary CEO to work with the Trust Board and:

  • provide inspirational and motivational leadership and strategic direction across the Trust
  • ensure the required financial disciplines are in place to achieve operational economies and value for money
  • deliver effective governance and organisational resilience across the Trust
  • develop effective working relationships that promote the Trust’s objectives with the Regional Schools Commissioners, LAs, the DfE and other significant external stakeholders
  • identify opportunities to further grow and develop the Trust.

With experience of operating at board level and reporting to board members, you are able to demonstrate a track record of exceptional leadership and management experience, which may have been gained in a variety of settings. Combining a sharply strategic mind-set with a truly hands-on approach, you relish sharing responsibilities whilst taking accountability. You are able to align best practice across a regional organisation to ensure consistency, and are able to tackle significant and ongoing challenges and take tough decisions.

You share ATT’s commitment to excellence and our values of transparency, innovation, collaboration & ambition, which are at the heart of all we do, whilst placing our young people at the centre of everything you do. Above all, you will be capable of completing our transformation to ensure that we emerge fit for the future – and more capable than ever of building on success in a changing educational landscape and in becoming one of the best trusts in the country.

In return for your commitment, energy and enthusiasm, we offer the opportunity to work alongside an experienced, committed and engaged Trust Board and be supported by strong and effective school leaders and executive team. You will lead a Trust that has a clear vision of accelerating pupil progress, harnessing its resources, engaging its people, cultivating its schools’ communities and achieving growth through excellence.

To discover more about this exciting opportunity and for an information pack, please contact our retained consultant, John Carter at Veredus on 07725 607112 or email: john.carter@veredus.co.uk. Please supply a contact telephone number.

Closing date: Monday, 30th April 2018.

Shortlisting: Friday, 4th May 2018.

Selection activities and panel interview date: w/c 7th May 2018.
