BSix Sixth Form College has a cohort of 25 students who are in year 10 and 11 on Alternative Provision. These students are integrated into full time study programmes with the mainstream post 16 cohort.
The college takes referrals from local boroughs and schools and is quality assured jointly by the them. The last quality assurance inspection rated the provision as GOOD. The provision has grown each year in the last three years and will aim to attract 30 students from September 2019.
The cohort is a blend of:
• Students of ESOL learners who arrive in borough and are unable to claim a secondary school place
• Students who have made informed decisions with the support of schools to take a vocational path at college rather than a full GCSE program
• Students who have been excluded from secondary school.
The college has good success with this cohort, 2017 – 2018 had a pass rate of 90%. However, as the offer expands the college are aware of the widening needs of the cohort and wish to increase the academic and pastoral support.
Closing date: 24th July 2019.
