Job Title: Data and Examinations Manager

Grade: PO2/3 FTE £30,785 - £36,379 (pro rata £28,479 - £33,654) (Term-time + 20 days) – Dependent upon experience.

Role: 

To lead the production and management of all data reports on the academy systems including those required by the Senior Leadership Team, Local Accountability Board and Board of Directors.

To support students’ learning through the review, production and analysis of assessment data, in conjunction with the leadership team.

To maintain the management information system (SIMS) within the academy.

To support teacher effectiveness by ensuring all aspects of assessment and analysis of progress are enhanced by good quality, reliable and informative data sets.

Exam administration of all external and internal exams.


Specific Responsibilities: 

Data

Create log-ins for SIMs, Behaviour Watch, SISRA etc.

Add data to SIMS in line with role as Data and Examinations Manager

Input of Performance data including exam results and internal assessments and analysis thereof in conjunction with the academy leadership team.

Data input from baseline testing, including CAT tests, Reading Age tests and subject baseline tests.

Data input for external examinations, including estimated grades, including both academic and vocational areas.

Input of student curriculum data including class lists and timetables in liaison with the SLT.

Liaising with Team Leaders, School Leaders and the leadership team to provide data analysis.

Provide high quality national data for benchmarking purposes

Management of reporting, recording and the tracking of student progress

Managing the examinations results analysis process

To analyse assessment data and findings and prepare reports

To analyse and assess Behaviour and Attendance data and link with attainment.

To liaise with the Principal regarding target setting using national data sets

Where appropriate to train and provide support to teachers on analysing data to improve learning and teaching.

To prepare spreadsheets on Excel format to inform curriculum decisions and preparation of internal data publications.

 

Examinations 

The administration of all internal and external examinations, which will include: 

To support the Principal with results analysis relating to GCSE, AS-level, A-level, BTEC and other external examinations as well as practice exams and reports.

Production of examination statistics and analysis for public examinations.

Arranging the examinations timetable.

Recruit, train and manage a team of invigilators to ensure all exams are appropriately supervised.

Maintain appropriate security of all examination papers, in line with exam board requirements.

Undertake all actions to ensure that exams are efficiently managed (e.g. ensure rooms are ready for examinations to commence, synchronise the start of examinations, negotiating with staff re-rooming of their normal timetabled classes, ensure all, manage all access arrangements for students with identified special and/or additional needs).

Completing all Special Consideration documents where appropriate for exam boards.

Collection of student data prior to examinations commencing.

Advising examination boards of student information.

Advising students, parents and staff of examination timetables.

Monitoring the examinations budget.

Approving invoices for payment.

Co-ordinate the distribution of results and certificates to students for all examinations.

Work with the Vice Principal: Achievement and Outcomes to the Principal and LAB on examination results.

Ensuring examination regulations are known and applied by all staff.

Making all examination entries on behalf of the academy.

Verifying examination entries with students and staff.

Maintaining accurate records of entries, re-mark requests and results.

Liaise with external agencies and ensure that necessary statistical returns are made accurately and in compliance with deadlines.

Leeds West is a co-educational, non-denominational 11-16 secondary in the city’s district of Bramley. The school is a member of the White Rose Academies Trust. There are currently approximately 1,300 students on the school roll. The school is located near Summerfield Primary School and Stanningley Park. The school offers an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities from martial arts to chess. The school is also sponsored by Leeds City College.
