About Leeds West Academy
Leeds West is a co-educational, non-denominational 11-16 secondary in the city’s district of Bramley. The school is a member of the White Rose Academies Trust. There are currently approximately 1,300 students on the school roll. The school is located near Summerfield Primary School and Stanningley Park. The school offers an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities from martial arts to chess. The school is also sponsored by Leeds City College.
Values and vision
The Academy has Six Core Values that are at the centre of everything that they do. These are resilience, independence, respect, responsibility, participation and aspiration. The academy has three rules; be ready, be respectful, be safe. The academy upholds these values and rules every day. There is a belief that students are the best representatives of these values and expectations as they display an enthusiasm for learning, a thirst for knowledge and a genuine sense of community.
The vision is that Leeds West Academy in an Academy renowned for excellence. It is a seat of transformation and pride in its community. In order to ensure this, staff are passionate that each individual has a clear pathway to success. The Academy wishes to maximise each individual’s chances of success in life and support students in being the best that they can be.
