Our curriculum follows the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE at the end of Year 10. After successfully completing IGCSE exams students can choose to take A Levels or the IB Diploma.

Cairo English School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Head teacher of Early Years for August 2021. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s Guiding Statements and Values that strives to deliver a world class education. Job Description:

o Membership of the Early Years Leadership Team in order to collaborate on Foundation Stage leadership and management priorities;    

o Support and liaise with the Head of Early Years and Admissions Registrar, in assessing the application, enrolment and class placement process for all pupils into EYFS;

o Plan, organise and manage the academic and pastoral development of EYFS pupils including the setting of appropriate pupil targets, the monitoring of appropriate assessment/tracking processes, the monitoring and writing of reports and liaison with the parents.

o To ensure the appropriate support for individuals and groups of pupils identified through assessment data.

o Lead and manage the EYFS team in the delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum and outstanding Early Years setting.

o Monitor the quality of teaching and learning in EYFS through regular monitoring and evaluation including formal Lesson Observations according to the CES Appraisal Policy.

o Review and monitor the EYFS curriculum by keeping up-to-date with developments in UK education including the new EYFS Framework and to organise training sessions for EYFS.

o Actively promote and support the EYFS extra-curricular provision as appropriate.

o Lead and manage the EYFS contribution to the School newsletters and other such publications

o Monitor and manage the ordering of EYFS resources.

o Lead and manage continuity between Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2 stages of EYFS.

o Liaise with the Head of Primary along with the Head of Early Years for a smooth EYFS to KS1 transition.

o Keep up-to-date with Safeguarding developments and liaise with the School Director as appropriate.

o Lead and manage the EYFS Staff Professional Development Review cycle including Staff Well Being issues.
