Ark Victoria provides pupils with a unique journey in their education through the curriculum and wide range of opportunities that we offer as an all through school. Pupils leave us with the skills and qualifications to continue their journey of life-long learning in a university or career of their choice.

It's for this reason that Ark Victoria Academy was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2019, with a strong emphasis on expert subject knowledge from our Teachers, strong Teaching and leadership and a focus on excellence for our students and staff.

Do you want to be an integral part of our success story?

Due to structural change, we are looking to strengthen the Leadership Team with a forward-thinking Deputy Headteacher to work across primary and secondary who has a proven track record of embedding positive student culture throughout a school, with the ability to grow a remit across all key stages.

This role would be suited to a strong behaviour lead with secondary senior leadership experience who prides themselves on being a tenacious leader or an experienced Deputy Headteacher looking for a new challenge with a key interest in behaviour, culture, Character Education and in developing student leadership.

You will build consistent levels of excellence in all phases and continue to deliver great results across the whole school. You will also hold exceptionally high expectations for all pupils and give them every opportunity to succeed. Being an established leader, you will join with a strong track record of improving student outcomes.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you will also be centrally involved in the overall leadership and management of the academy and will help to establish a school culture that is both nurturing and rigorous.

Our values mean a great deal to us and underpin all that we do, and so it is important that you champion Ark Victoria’s pledge of being Ambitious, Resilient and Kind as well as living by the Ark ethos and six pillars that enable us to achieve our mission.

As part of the Ark network, our staff benefit from strong links with the wider network; particularly with the other Ark schools in Birmingham. We harness expertise and build pastoral communities so that our teachers can learn from and collaborate with colleagues. As well as networking with colleagues in other Ark schools, our staff receive high quality training and support.

About the school

Ark Victoria Academy is a large all-through school, which was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May 2019. Teaching and leadership are strengths and teachers demonstrate expert subject knowledge. Time is given for reading, research and intellectual preparation to ensure teachers hone their craft and continue to develop and improve.

At Ark Victoria we have a strong vision for our school with a focus on excellence, for both our students and our staff, which is underpinned by our values:

Aim high, be brave, be kind, keep learning

As part of the Ark network, our staff benefit from strong links with the wider network; particularly with the other Ark schools in Birmingham. We harness expertise and build subject communities so that our teachers can learn from and collaborate with colleagues. As well as networking with colleagues in other Ark schools, our staff receive high quality training and support.

Our approach

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum through each stage of education. We have high expectations, and that includes high academic standards, a business-like approach in the way students present themselves, and outstanding attendance and punctuality. Sport, performing arts and design feature in both the curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Facilities

We have excellent facilities which include an astro-turf sports pitch, a four-court sports hall, a recording studio, two art/DT rooms, a dance studio, a fitness suite and a performance/school hall.

Why work at Ark Victoria

Ark Victoria Academy is an "all through family school". It is an ethos that we have worked so hard to establish since we opened, and which we know is valued by our families. Ark Victoria provides pupils with a unique journey in their education through the curriculum and wide range of opportunities that we offer as an all through school. We support and empower all staff and pupils to become ambitious, resilient, and kind citizens who understand their role in our community and the wider world. Pupils leave us with the skills and qualifications to continue their journey of life-long learning in a university or career of their choice.

Our success would not have been possible without great teachers, which is why we offer the very best training for all our staff. We provide regular coaching sessions and have an open-door policy for teachers so that peers can share learning and best practice. Our training doesn’t stop once you reach a certain level or learn a certain skill – we’ll support you throughout your whole career, from starting out as a trainee to running your own school.  In order to deliver the best training and network events, we offer twice as many training days as standard. Your school will develop and deliver its own training sessions which are responsive to need.
