About Ark Victoria Academy
A new member of the Ark family, Ark Victoria Academy is an all-through school with a bright future.
About the school
Ark Victoria Academy opened in March 2018, providing high-quality all-through education for the families of Small Heath, Birmingham.
Its predecessor school, Perry Beeches V opened in September 2015 originally with Reception and Year 7 classes. In January 2016, a nursery was added in partnership with Birmingham City Council.
Vision and values
Being an all-through school, children remain on one site from nursery to sixth form and enjoy small teaching groups. Our values are summarised by "family, high expectations, respect, excellence is a habit, network and collaboration". We are non-selective, non-denominational and mixed.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum through each stage of education. We have high expectations, and that includes high academic standards, a business-like approach in the way students present themselves, and outstanding attendance and punctuality. Sport, performing arts and design feature in both the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
We have excellent facilities which include an astro-turf sports pitch, a four-court sports hall, a recording studio, 19 more classrooms, two art/DT rooms, a dance studio, a fitness suite and a performance/school hall.
Ark is in consultation to amalgamate Ark Victoria Academy with its neighbouring school Ark Chamberlain Primary Academy, to create a four form-entry, all-through school. If approved, the schools will amalgamate on 1 September 2018 under the name Ark Victoria Academy.
Ark Victoria Academy has yet to undergo an Ofsted inspection.
The Ark network
Ark Victoria Academy is part of Ark, an international charity transforming lives through education. Ark has 35 schools across the UK in Birmingham, Hastings, London and Portsmouth. Ark exists to give every young person, regardless of their background, a great education and real choices in life. Ark schools are all non-selective and in areas where they can make the biggest difference.
