Deputy Housemistress of Boarding

We are seeking a Deputy Housemistress to assist the Deputy Housemaster and Head of Boarding in providing outstanding pastoral care to the students at Sotogrande International School.

We are looking for someone who will continue to transform the boarding experience for students. One of the key responsibilities will be monitoring and delivering excellent pastoral and academic support to all the boarders, with particular emphasis on managing the female boarders within the mixed Boarding House.

This is an extremely rewarding position where a diverse skill set is a prerequisite, as is an abundance of enthusiasm, energy, kindness, innovation and sense of humour. A commitment to developing the boarding experience for students after school, assisting with the medical provision and offering personalised learning is crucial.

It is an exceptionally exciting time to become a member of the boarding community at SIS. Due to the expansion in student numbers, a brand new boarding facility is being built for September 2022. This will provide the students at SIS with the very best facilities to match the very best care which we seek to offer.

The current Boarding House is situated within an exclusive area and the building itself looks out over the neighbouring golf course and sea. The students have access to a wonderful range of facilities and it is a truly international environment with over 30 nationalities represented in the Boarding Student community alone.

This is a residential position and the accommodation on offer immediately and on the new site is suitable for single people or couples.

Applicants with a recognised teaching qualification will be preferred, as the expectation will be for them to work a 50% school timetable.  All subjects and age groups will be considered. A part time role could be considered for someone not qualified as a teacher.  Eligibility to work in Spain is a must.
