We are seeking a high performing leader for the post commencing in August 2022 or January 2023. To direct and oversee co-curricular sporting provision across the whole school, overseeing the main areas of Sports events, Sports Academy Leadership, extra-curricular sports provision, facilities and resources and budget management. Also to work alongside the Heads of Curriculum PE (Lower School and Upper School) and staff responsible for the extracurricular activity programme across the school to ensure success for students and a collaborative approach to shared use of facilities and organisation of sports events.

· Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS 

· Sound problem solving, planning and time management skills

· The ability to build strong, respectful and productive relationships with all stakeholders

· Capacity to be self-directed and autonomous, and work with others internally and externally

· Experience with leading /managing a large department 

· Minimum three years’ experience as a middle or senior leader

· Role model in personal delivery of own quality outcomes and ability to manage others effectively

· Familiarity with the National Curriculum of England (Plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate)

· Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child

· A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of pupils and staff

· Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities and in sport

· Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background

· Previous experience working with staff and students for whom English is not a first language

· A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life

· Acceptable police checks (or equivalent) from the country of origin and from all other countries in which the applicant has worked and no question regarding suitability to work with children and appropriate references from current and previous employer, corroborated by personal phone calls made to each referee
