The British Junior Academy of Brussels (BJAB) is located in the diplomatic residential area of Brussels and the diverse intake is reflected in our proximity to the main institutions of the EU, major NGOs and offices of multinational companies. Our reputation, since 1994, as a high-quality provider of the National Curriculum of England is recognised in the community and by our 2016 “Outstanding” rating by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). The report can be accessed here: https://bjab.org/app/uploads/2017/01/BJAB-Final-Inspection-Report-16.05.16.pdf.

We encourage and expect excellence from all our pupils and place emphasis on independence and self-motivation. Our current Year 6 pupils will be progressing to a range of first-choice schools including Westminster Under (with scholarship), St Mary’s Ascot, Magdalene College, Oxford, British School of Brussels and a variety of international schools across Europe. Our ethos is grounded in providing a safe, caring, respectful, tolerant and disciplined environment where high standards prevail in all areas of school life. The parent body is active and engaged in supporting the educational aims of the school and providing a lively social dimension through the Parent Teacher Association. The school has approximately 200 pupils and a teaching staff of 30. Please visit our website for more information: www.bjab.org.

BJAB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates will be subject, as a minimum, to an enhanced disclosure through the UK’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

English as a first language is essential. We look for teachers with the ability to support, nurture and challenge children from a range of backgrounds and starting points. Creativity and flexibility; professional rigour and integrity; expectations of high standards; high levels of pastoral care and support are the hallmarks of our professional team.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates and prior contact by Skype, telephone or email to the Headteacher is welcomed. Interviews will be held in London in late March or by arrangement. If interested, please submit a completed application form, a cover letter and your CV (optional).
