Job overview

If you're looking for a School where the safety, happiness and future opportunities for all our learners is at the heart of everything we do, then Guru Nanak Sikh Academy is the School for you.  Whether it be for our staff or students, our aim is to support everyone to deliver and develop to be at their best.  We take our responsibility for educating young people very seriously. We put Teaching and Learning alongside student progress and staff development at the heart of all we do.

Your future learning environment was opened in 1993 Guru Nanak Sikh College at the request of the community by our founder Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji.  His vision is that through education we can eradicate poverty and ignorance.  The Academy is dedicated to educating and supporting students and staff to better their outcomes and continue lifelong learning by  "providing an outstanding learning environment which challenges us all, staff and pupils, to achieve our full potential and to share our successes, knowledge and skills with the local, national and global community". (Mr R. Sandhu - Executive Principal).

The Academy is an oversubscribed all through Academy in Hayes, Hillingdon.  It currently has a 6 form of entry in the Secondary Phase with a Sixth Form and 2 form of entry in the Primary Phase.

Our 2019 results show above age related expectations in Primary and a positive Value added score of +0.7 for the Secondary stage at GCSE level.

If you are successful you will have an ideal opportunity to mold this department into what you wish a Business Department of the future should look like.  We have a clear vision for Business Studies across the Academy and seek a like minded individual who  is both ready for the challenge and to be challenged to bring out the best in their leadership potential.

Ideally this a great opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is looking for their next step into middle leadership or who is already experienced at this level, and is committed and determined to raise and sustain student progress and achievement by helping to attain the very best learning experiences for our pupils,  However this is also a great opportunity for an effective teacher ready for their next step or an ambitious and willing NQT happy to be supported on their journey.  Applications from experienced staff looking for a challenge and an opportunity to lead are also more than welcome.

AQA GCSE Business Studies (Key Stage 4) - Grades have been rising in recent years and were projected to be + VA in 2020.

AQA GCE Business (Key Stage 5)  - Grades at ALP 2  +VA in 2019 and projected to be +VA in 2020.

The department is currently fully resourced across all KS 4 and 5 subject areas  and you will be responsible for a team teachers dedicated to enhance pupils learning.

Given the present circumstances, skype/google interviews will take place and we reserve the right to interview and make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are advisable.

We also currently offer Business at KS3 and are in the process of reviewing this offer for 2020/21 as  a possible series of half termly drop down days.  We are also very eager to start up the Young Enterprise Scheme across key stages.

We are a happy Academy with delightful, enthusiastic pupils, excellent hard working staff, supportive parents and loyal governors.   If you are interested in investing in your future alongside that of our future generations, then this is the School for you.
