We are seeking to appoint a forward thinking and inspirational Head of Computing and ICT. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated professional to develop provision within the school and ensure that our students are achieving the very best outcomes.
As Head of Department, you will have well developed leadership skills which will build upon the department’s current achievements, as well as having the ability to think creatively to ensure students are eager to learn and always challenged. You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven track record of achieving the very best outcomes for students. You will be an excellent role model to others within your team and the school as a whole.
The Queen Elizabeth Academy is an 11-16 mixed academy based in Atherstone with approximately 626 pupils on roll. Following our recent Ofsted inspection in May 2017, we were shown to be “Good with Outstanding features”, a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students.
Our summer examination results were fantastic. Our performance was well above National Averages in all key performance criteria and our Progress 8 score of +0.39 was quite stunning.
In November 2016, as part of the Priority School Building Programme, we moved into brand new premises that have given us access to fantastic new facilities, which really set us apart in the locality.
Our school continues to grow. The Local Authority has asked us to take additional students from September 2019 and as result increased capacity will be added over the coming months to cater for school expansion, with the completion of a new teaching block.
We are a forward thinking school, always looking for areas to develop and improve as well as being very open to new ideas; we feel this is best way to ensure consistent development and attainment of our students.

The Queen Elizabeth Academy is part of the Academy Transformation Trust family of academies.
We are located in the historic North Warwickshire town of Atherstone. The school’s traditions are founded upon the opening of the original Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in 1573.
