Job overview

Head of Drama 1FTE (TLR2B)

Commencement Date: September 2021.

The Governors of King Ecgbert School are seeking to appoint a 1FTE Head of Drama in this outstanding, system leading school at the heart of the Mercia Learning Trust.

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to join our successful, forward looking Drama department. We are looking for an outstanding teacher wanting to join a friendly team, which strives to give pupils an excellent, fun learning experience, whilst maintaining great outcomes. We are seeking to appoint a teacher with a vision for developing Drama at KES. Operating in a small team as sole drama teacher with contributions to KS3 teaching from other subjects, it will be important to show how cross curricular links to English, Music and Art can strengthen the arts offer. The successful applicant will need to be resourceful and have the energy to shape the department in terms of future development of schemes of work, curriculum design and exam specification choices. This is an opportunity to put your own stamp on this area of school, so initiative and strategic intelligence will be vital.

We welcome applications from candidates who will challenge and excite our students and have the ability to consistently deliver inspirational and varied lessons. Ambitious for learning and a team player, you will have the vision and drive to build on the strong foundations that already exist in the department.

King Ecgbert School is part of a successful academy trust (Mercia Learning Trust); this allows opportunities to work with other successful departments and leading professionals to constantly improve staff through specific and focused CPD.

At King Ecgbert School, we believe in and promote our ERA values:
