An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our incredibly successful Geography team of 10 teachers through the next stage of its development. Reporting to the current post holder who will take on a wider school responsibility, the successful applicant will:

·        be an excellent teacher and leader with the ambition, vision and drive to lead a team of motivated and committed teachers who believe that there are no limits to what our students can achieve.

·        have a strong and sustained track record of delivering outstanding outcomes at GCSE and/or A Level. In addition, they will have experience of coaching and developing other staff

 

Geography is a core subject at key stage 3 and a popular choice at key stage 4 with nearly 300 students studying the subject in years 10 and 11. At GCSE, we teach the AQA specification. Student outcomes are also quite pleasing with nearly 40% of last year’s cohort of 188 students achieving grades 7-9 at GCSE. Geography is equally a popular choice at A level. We currently have 53 students studying the subject in years 12 and 13. The Edexcel GCE A/AS specification is taught at key stage 5.  A level outcomes are equally pleasing with last year’s cohort of 22 students achieving an average grade of A- in the GCE A level course.

 

Brampton Manor Academy is a very large and successful 11-18 mixed school with nearly 3,000 pupils on roll.  What are proud of what our students have achieved but not complacent about the challenges and opportunities for growth that lie ahead. Brampton Manor Academy is a highly successful 11-18 mixed school and we serve a rich and culturally diverse community in East Ham, close to London City Airport and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park situated in Stratford.

Brampton Manor converted to Academy status in April 2011 and formed a multi-academy trust called Brampton Manor Trust in 2013. In January 2014, Brampton Manor sponsored another local school, Langdon Academy (a 3-16 school), who joined our Trust in January 2014. There is strong collaborative working between our schools.
