Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic teacher to lead the languages faculty from September, 2018. We currently offer French, German and Spanish to GCSE and A level and also run courses in Latin/Classical Civilisations at KS4 and KS5. Languages are optional at KS4. The successful candidate will be expected to teach to GCSE and A level and lead a team of nine teachers, currently including subject leaders for Latin, German and Spanish.

While we would welcome applications from specialists in any of the languages mentioned, the ability to teach French to examination level will definitely be an advantage, as would the ability to offer a second language to at least KS3 but ideally to examination level.

However our primary aim is to appoint someone with the leadership skills and vision to take the faculty forward at a crucial time for education in general and language teaching in particular.

If you are interested in the above post, please telephone Lou Ellis (Headteacher’s P.A.) at the school for further details and an application form; this information is also on our website www.redborne.com. The successful candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring check.

All offers of employment are “conditional” until Disclosure and Barring and qualification checks have been successfully completed and satisfactory references have been received. Redborne is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Closing Date : Tuesday 24th April, 2018
