Job overview

A unique opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacher of Mathematics who is excited by the prospect of spearheading a new department in one of the country’s leading Sixth Forms. Our Sixth Form opened in September 2012 with the specific objective of enabling more students from the local area to progress to Russell Group universities by providing them with a high quality academic education. Eight years on, we are proud of our national reputation for progression rates to Oxbridge and the Russell Group of universities, as well as A Level results that have regularly seen us placed amongst the top schools in the country for both attainment and progress.

This success has brought with it a significant increase in student numbers – whilst in 2012 we had less than 50 students studying Maths and Further Maths in the Sixth Form, we now have more than 500! Maths is by some distance the most popular A Level offered in the school and each year more than 100 students progress to elite universities to study mathematics related degrees, including a large number to Oxbridge.

We believe the time is now right to create a new Maths department in the school, comprised of specialist teaching staff to deliver the Maths and Further Maths A Levels that sits separately from our 11-16 Maths department. We envisage this department comprising of 10 teachers, most of whom are already highly experienced Maths teachers in our school with a strong track record of delivering impressive outcomes at A Level.

We are looking for a highly ambitious individual who is excited by the opportunity this unique role will provide. Most importantly, you must yourself be an outstanding teacher of A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics with a proven track record of public examination success with your classes, as well as having a clear vision of how you will use your own knowledge and experience more widely to improve upon what are already outstanding Maths and Further Maths results. As a middle leader, you will be a key member of our Teaching & Learning group and will play a key role in driving up standards across the school.

All completed application forms should be sent by email to jobs@bramptonmanor.org
