We are looking for a dynamic Head of Mathematics to join our team from September.

At the Nottingham Academy, we instil a positive learning culture which has exceedingly high expectations of our pupils. Our Academy staff demonstrate exemplary professional and personal standards, acting as positive role models for our pupils.

Our Mathematics department aim to provide pupils with exciting, relevant and challenging activities, delivered by dedicated staff. We believe it is important that pupils understand the underlying principles of the mathematics they learn; making links and developing reasoning skills and logical thinking.

To be successful, you will:

  • have an outstanding track record as a teaching practitioner and experience of raising standards of attainment;
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, setting high expectations of staff and the department as a whole;
  • share our ethos that every child can succeed, despite the challenges they may face and be relentless in the pursuit of realising this belief.

In return, you will be well supported by an experienced team of Teachers and also the Senior Leadership Team. We are part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) which has a proven track record in school improvement. The Trust provides centralised services and support to enable staff to focus on teaching. Being part of the Trust enables us to share specialist best practice and work collaboratively with colleagues in other academies.
